Pilot residency in Warsaw with NEWSPACE

February 2025

We’re excited to share some glimpses from the first international residency of the NEWSPACE project.

From February 20 to 25, the Powszechny Theatre hosted a week of intensive creative workshops for young people, led by artists from Italy, Poland, and Ukraine. Over six days, participants explored theatre, dance, writing, and improvisation, engaging in both collaborative and individual creation. Working within an international group, they discovered how art can help express what matters most, support adaptation to a new place, and foster new friendships and connections.

The workshops produced short theatre, dance, and video pieces, as well as written and oral stories. Through tasks, games, and theatrical improvisations, the young participants used the language of art to reflect on what moves them, what they find meaningful, and what gives them energy and curiosity in today’s world.
