The ongoing war in Ukraine has forced millions of people to leave their homes, creating new diasporic communities both within Ukraine and across the globe. Among those most deeply affected are teenagers, who represent one of the largest groups displaced by the conflict. For these young people, the experience of war has brought immense emotional, psychological, and social challenges—disrupting their lives at a critical time for identity formation and social integration.
NEWSPACE is dedicated to supporting these adolescents on their journey toward recovery and integration. Through participatory art, we create spaces where teens can express themselves, process their experiences, and build connections with others. Art becomes a powerful tool for healing, resilience, and mutual understanding, helping them navigate the complex realities of displacement while fostering their emotional and social growth.
Project pillars
Collaborative Artistic Practices
By involving Ukrainian teens in creative workshops across Italy, Poland, and Ukraine, we explore new ways to address societal challenges and provide models that can be adapted and scaled to other contexts.
Strengthening Community
Working alongside local partners, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and cultural identity, empowering young people to connect with peers and mentors from diverse backgrounds.
Innovating Through Art
By harnessing the potential of art and culture, we not only support individual recovery but also contribute to the broader growth of the communities involved.
